How A TRA Showed Up On My Radar

Editor’s note: I was incorrect in identifying one Rucci Martin as a sock account of David Rohan. Having spoken to the real Rucci Martin face to face via Facebook video chat, I am now satisfied she is not Rohan and have updated this article to reflect this correction as well as issue a retraction and apology.

Everyone, I’d like you to meet David (a.k.a. Darcy) Rohan.

David is a Trans Rights Activist of the criminal sort when, in 2017, he was charged with assault and battery and theft of property valuing less that $250 when he crashed a Keep MA Safe Coalition meeting where he proceeded to steal campaign signs and, when confronted about the theft by Treasurer William Gillmeister, spit on Gillmeister.

The reason I call him David and not Darcy is due to the fact that when he gave his name to the cops who showed up minutes after the incident with Gillmeister is that he first said his name was Darcy but when dispatchers revealed that no such person existed in their database it was then he admitted his birth name was David.

So he admits he is, in fact, David Rohan.

When asked about his behavior, David made the following statement, one that was so outrageous, unsupported and untrue that Politifact was moved to say as much:

“One in 15 trans people will die of murder,” she said, citing a claimed statistic. “This isn’t about bathrooms. It doesn’t matter if some gaslighting creep says it is. Bigots comparing us to sex predators do not get to set the terms of the discussion. This is not about bathrooms. This is about our lives.” 

When transwomen do actually get killed there’s often a distortion that occurs in the media that often presumes that it was their transgender status that was solely the motivation for their murder and tries to falsely suggest that transgendered people, particularly transwomen, are murdered at a rate well above the national average.

In 2016 a total of 17,250 murders took place out of which 22 of these murder victims were transgender and few, if any of these cases, can be attributed to their transgender status.

Of the 22 murders committed against transgendered people, most of them can be attributed to their partners while the rest can be attributed to prostitution (in and of itself a dangerous profession).

In most cases, drugs were involved and were a mitigating factor.

In 2018, 26 transgendered people were reported murdered but this is nowhere near the claim, as David suggests, that “one in 15” transgendered people are killed.

You’re probably wondering why I’m giving this obscure person any bandwidth. In fact, I’m somewhat wondering why I’m even giving this obscure person any bandwidth. Truth be told, David recently paid this newsletter of mine a visit the other day where he chimed in with his two cents and then deleted his comment but, since the internet (and email) is forever I have managed to capture his comments for all of posterity.

If I may be permitted to fisk.

I’m a trans woman who thoroughly despises William A. Ferguson.

First, there’s no evidence David is trans anything, except to say that we can generously describe him as a transvestite - a man in a dress - which is exactly how Mr. Gillmeister described him in his encounter with David on April 30th, 2017 shortly before David assaulted him.

And then there’s also the two times David has tried to befriend me on Facebook posing as Allie Bruce and I invite David to take three guesses how it was I knew this sock puppet account was him (he’ll probably never guess this in a million years).

David doesn’t despise me at all. In fact, David can’t quit me.

I find the Gender Heretics community to be disgusting.

It’s true that I am one of the editors of the Facebook page Gender Heretics, a website of the same name run by my good friend Matt Osborne but what David fails to mention here is that I and Matt routinely ban him from the page whenever he pops his head up to catch him engaging in his favorite pastime of offense mining, i.e. he routinely seeks out material to get offended by. A normal person wouldn’t actively seek out anything they’re offended and disgusted by but I hardly think David is normal in this regard.

That’s how I feel about you. I don’t want anyone thinking I’m with your creepy transphobic TERF bullshit because I’m not.

Oh, do tell us how you really feel. It’s okay, David - you’re free to speak your mind and not hold back.

I was wondering when you were going to drag her into this.

I read Marion Millar's comments and I found them extremely disagreeable, misguided and stupid. But I don't think she should have been arrested for it. Cops shouldn't be arresting people for being scumbags on Twitter. That doesn't sit right with me as an American who's used to saying whatever the fuck I want, especially online

Other than you’re American the rest of this statement is a bald-faced lie. You don’t believe in free speech at all and, going further, you want to police everyone else’s speech especially when it comes to your precious trans issues.

You reserve the right to harass, stalk and dox anyone who doesn’t scream TRANS all the goddamn time and you especially made note of this on the Gender Heretics page when you opined openly that a lot of the people there made the “mistake” of listing their employers on their profiles - to which you availed yourself to report them.

The fact that you even came to this page to give me a piece of your mind is prima facie evidence.

So I begrudgingly kinda sorta feel like the TERFs might be right about this case. Sort of. Because I think she's a giant piece of shit, but I think it's important that she have the right to be that piece of shit without getting arrested for it.

Again, you just want to harass, dox, spit on and ruin the livelihoods of anyone you believe is a TERF. You’re not interested in free speech at all.

If you'll excuse me. I don't feel good after saying that, but it's true.

They say confession is good for the soul but David’s is sort of a confession - on the one hand David claims nobody should have their lives upended for their beliefs unless they’re “transphobic” in your eyes but on the other I wonder if this has anything to do with the message I sent David on Facebook telling him that if he ever fucked with me I would have him prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for cyberstalking and/or held civilly liable?

Perhaps this is his way of saying I should just give him a pass so he can continue to harass, stalk and (try to at least) dox me?

I’m going to go ahead and leave the comment section open should David wish to stop by and “argue” with me some more but he’s going to have to realize that I won’t tolerate any pandering, equivocating or lying.
