Sexual Crimes Against Children In The UK Are On The Rise
The Culprits Are Trans Identified Males But Aren't Being Reported As Men
Rachel Richard Newton, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted at Leeds Crown Court in April 2021 of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, causing or inciting a boy under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, four counts of taking indecent images of a child and making/possessing indecent images of children.
Newton, 43 was jailed for four years and six months, ordered to sign the sex offenders indefinitely and made subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Newton was listed in court documentation as “female” and therefore these serious sexual offenses against children will likely be counted within female crime figures. It remains unknown whether Newton has been sent to a male or female prison. Media coverage referred to Newton as a pedophile rather than explicitly ascribe the crimes to a woman, but used female pronouns while also captioning a photo of Newton as having been “born a man but identifies as a woman”.
Allan/Jessica Brennan
Allan/Jessica Brennan, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted at York Court in May 2021 of multiple sexual offences against children. The offences were; attempted rape of a child under 13; assault of a girl under 13 by penetration; five counts of sexual activity with a child; assault by penetration; two counts of sexual assault; sexual activity with a child; and five counts of indecent assault.
Brennan, 54, perpetrated the offences against four school-aged children for the 18 years between 1998 and 2016. Detective Con Rebecca Prentice, of North Yorkshire Police, said the lives of the victims and their families were “shattered” by the “vile and dangerous pedophile” and she hoped they could now start to rebuild them. Like the media, the officer referred to Brennan with female pronouns i.e. she chose to align with the assumed identity of a rapist pedophile rather than the reality of the women who were sexually abused as children.
The York Press reports the devastation caused to the female victim’s lives with one of the victims left feeling “ashamed and guilty” about the abuse she’d suffered and how she felt that it was in some way her fault, and that she was to blame. Another victim described losing her self-esteem and her self-worth and explained how she felt guilty and found it hard to trust people. “I feel worthless” she said.
The court heard from another victim who said that she now suffered with anxiety attacks and wanted the memories of what had happened to her to “simply vanish”. She added that she felt like they never would as she has been left with “mental scars” from what Brennan did to her. Another victim spoke of her “pain and suffering over the last 21 years” and said “I’m constantly haunted by what happened to me.”
For perpetrating such serious sexual offences against children, Brennan was jailed for 22 years. The judge also imposed a four-year extended license upon eventual release, ordered that Brennan sign the sex offenders register for life and handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Protection Order, which will place strict restrictions on where Brennan can go when released from prison.
Denen Anderson
Denen Steven Anderson, a male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted at Dundee Sheriff’s Court in January 2021 relating to downloading images depicting child sexual abuse.
Anderson, 18, admitted downloading videos and still imagery depicting sexual abuse of very young children between one to five years old, and classified as category A, B and C. The court also heard that the police found a number of deleted notes, including deeply disturbing topics such as ‘kid killers’, ‘toddler torture’, ‘baby torture’, ‘baby abuse’, ‘toddler murder’, ‘baby killer’ and ‘child abusers’.
All media coverage referred to Anderson as a woman and online comments from numerous readers disputed Anderson being reported as a woman after an apparently very recent transition.
Police found several images of child rape and torture on the phone & computer of this 'female pedophile'.
In April of this year Anderson escaped a jail sentence and walked free from court but was placed on the sex offenders register for two years and banned from having contact with children or using social networking sites. Anderson does not have a gender recognition certificate (GRC) but was referred to as a woman in media coverage.
Anna McKone
Anna McKone, a trans-identified male, was convicted at Bolton Crown Court in January 2021 of distributing indecent images of children and two counts of downloading indecent images of children. McKone’s devices were found to contain a total of 175 indecent images of children aged five to 14 years, one image in the more serious category B and five other prohibited images.
Despite repeatedly offending – even after arrest – McKone, 46, escaped a custodial sentence and was sentenced to a three year community order with 50 days of rehabilitation activities. McKone was also placed on the sex offenders’ register and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for seven years.
Police raided McKone’s home in Horwich in 2019 after the National Crime Agency had received a tip off from the Kik social media site that someone had uploaded three indecent images of children. A phone, laptop and tablet were seized, then while McKone was on bail, police discovered that the same IP address was downloading more indecent images in July and August 2019. Following a subsequent raid, a mini tablet and laptop were also seized and a cleaning program to delete images was found on one of the devices. The tablet had been used to search websites using terms such as “I’m a goddamn pedophile”.
Local media coverage referred to McKone as a woman throughout – although like many recent cases you, the readers, may question why a male person’s crime has been ascribed to females. The judge referred to the offender’s “difficult and complex background” – potentially yet another trans-identified male who has sought to blame gender issues for their offending or as mitigation for their offending.
Jessica Smith
Jessica Ann Smith, a male who identifies as a transgender woman, was convicted at Exeter Crown Court in April 2021 of three counts of attempting to incite a child to sexual activity and one of arranging to commit a child sex offence. Smith, 41, was sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
Smith set up a fake profile on a social networking site called Skout reportedly “pretending to be a 20-year-old woman called Jasmine.” Smith rapidly (within 10 minutes) turned conversations sexual and shared explicit sexual photos and encouraged sexual behavior with a profile they understood to be a 14 year old girl. In July 2018, Smith set up another similar profile on a different site and again started communicating with a 14-year-old girl and arranged for the child to visit their home near Sidmouth in Devon and bring along a 12-year-old friend. However, both profiles were, in fact, operated by a group of pedophile hunters called Justice for the Tears.
One shudders to think what would have taken place had JFTT had not intervened.
In the latest bizarre obfuscation of the sex of the offender in media coverage, Devon Live reported that “When people behind the profile arrived they saw a person dressed as a male peering through a hedge” who claimed to be a man who had been sent to fetch the child. See also The Derby Telegraph’s headline from 2016 which read ‘Have you seen missing woman spotted in Derbyshire dressed as a man?’ when reporting that a trans-identified male rapist named Craig Hauxwell had gone on the run.
Smith’s barrister told the court the defendant was “depressed and isolated at the time because of her complex gender identity issues and a sense of loss after family bereavements” and that “her use of pornography escalated and while it is no excuse, she was in a very bad place.”
If this is what being transgender does to you, should we not more leery of it?
Matthew Burren / Alex Smith
Matthew Burren/Alex Smith, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted at Swindon Magistrates Court in March 2021 of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Burren/Smith, 28, was initially convicted 16 years previously (ie at age 12) of the rape of a five year old boy.
The judge cited the fact that Burren/Smith was “currently undergoing gender reassignment” as a reason to suspend the imposed 26-week prison sentence for two years, reportedly saying “You are very very, very vulnerable. That’s the only reason I am not sending you to prison. If you were not vulnerable, I would probably send you to prison.”
A new indefinite SHPO preventing Burren/Smith from approaching children under the age of 16 or allowing a child to enter or stay at their home address, among other conditions, was also put in place.
This was the fifth time Burren/Smith, 28, has been convicted of breaching an SHPO, part of a disturbing and repeated pattern of concealing and lying about possessing electronic devices used to download indecent images of children and contacting children online. Police had visited Burren/Smith’s home unannounced in March 2021 and discovered an undeclared device connected to the router. On discovery, Burren/Smith, picked up a pair of scissors, walked towards the police officer and said “I’m going to kill myself”.
Burren/Smith’s SHPO had been imposed in 2011 after indecent images of children, including sexualized Japanese drawings of children, were found on various electronic devices concealed from the police. The offending occurred while Burren/Smith was under extended license after release from the custodial sentence for rape. Burren/Smith, who is diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, avoided recall back into custody, instead receiving a two-year community order with supervision and ordered to live at a hostel with 24-hour monitoring and support, and to attend a special school.
In 2015, Burren/Smith was again convicted of possessing prohibited images of children and twice breaching a sexual offence prevention order after having contacted children online.
In 2019 magistrates sentenced Burren/Smith to a two year community order with 30 rehabilitation days after admitting deleting internet browser history and having a number of pornographic websites bookmarked on a PlayStation 4.
At each court appearance Burren/Smith avoided jail after (allegedly) being keen to engage and change, although there appears to be absolutely no evidence that any of the interventions actually prevented further offending.
Mark / Marcia Walker
This one is particularly egregious.
Mark/Marcia Walker, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted of raping two girls under the age of 16 – one of whom was aged just four. Walker was sentenced (as a man named Mark Walker) to 13 years in prison at Canterbury Crown Court on January 17, 2003.
Soon after being released, Walker was sentenced in February 2012 to six months in jail on 10 counts of making indecent photographs of children, seven of taking indecent photographs of children and two of distributing indecent photographs of children.
When Walker was in jail in June 2012 prison officers found a document entitled ‘Plan of Action’ which involved going to (then Home Secretary) Theresa May’s home and “causing problems.”
On release in August 2012, Walker began making a series of bomb threats against prisons, prison staff and Theresa May. The threats were made initially from a bail hostel and then, once returned to custody, from HMP Bullingdon and then from the high security category A men’s prisons Walker was transferred to.
Walker, 43, received an additional five year sentence in 2017 for threats made from HMP Long Lartin. This was in addition to a six year sentence imposed in 2013 for threats made from HMP Bullingdon and an additional four year sentence in 2015 for threats made from HMP Parkhurst.
Sentencing Walker for the latest threats at Worcester Crown Court in February 2017, Judge Juckes said he must extend Walker’s sentence to deter further serious and disruptive threats. The defense team submitted that Walker had been assessed as having “Asperger’s syndrome with rigid thinking, a lack of insight and a fixation on blaming the prison service.”
The judge also added that the prisoner’s grudge arose because Walker “wanted transgender surgery, the possibility of which was still being investigated.”
“There is apparently no other way of controlling your behavior other than by making it clear to you that each time you choose – and it is your choice – to behave in this way, you face a longer sentence.
“The only person that can end this cycle is you.”
Walker has made bomb threats in the past.
2012 – In August, left phone messages saying there was a bomb at a probation hostel in Windsor. He was sent back to prison and from HMP Bullingdon he rang Crimestoppers and told them there was a parcel bomb at (then Home Secretary) Theresa May’s home.
2012 – In November, bomb threat sent to Theresa May’s home telling her “Watch your back. You are a dead woman” while at HMP Bullingdon
2013 – Claimed there was a mail bomb at HMP Bullingdon and caused significant disruption as judicial visits and prisoner transfers were cancelled.
2015 – Hoax call to Crimestoppers on December 4 while at HMP Parkhurst to claim there was a nail bomb in the prison car park and a bomb at the governor’s home address
2016 – Two written bomb threats to HMP Long Lartin senior prison officer and prison governor on January 28
In 2016, another prisoner at HMP Long Lartin, Paul Tudor, was convicted at Worcester Crown Court of causing actual bodily harm to Walker and was sentenced to an additional 26 months in prison. Walker claimed this was a transphobic attack although Tudor denied this. No mention of Walker having committed a series of the most serious sexual offences against children was made in the media coverage identified.
In May, 2021 Walker, 47, was convicted at Durham Crown Court in April 2021 of two charges of making a threat to kill and one of assaulting an emergency worker, plus two counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order regarding possession of indecent images of children.
In HMP Frankland in April 2020 ( i.e. at the height of the pandemic), Walker claimed to have COVID-19 and threatened to cough on an officer, before also threatening to kill a female custody manager and another prisoner (a wheelchair user who is paralyzed from the waist down). An officer responding to a cell bell found Walker with a noose tied round their neck and was spat on after trying to remove it – Walker then shouted “rape”. The Daily Mail reports that Walker attacked the prison officer after razors were removed – unsurprising, perhaps, in a category A prison for violent male offenders – but Walker argued being unable to shave ‘made gender dysphoria worse’.
Following transfer to Durham Prison (a category B men’s prison) on remand for these offences, pictures of naked children were found hidden in a book in Walker’s possession in March 2021. The second charge of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order related to the discovery of a copy of a National Geographic magazine containing pictures of naked children in Walker’s possession in January 2020.
The judge expressed ‘real concerns’ over releasing Walker, but imposed a 15-month prison sentence in May 2021 and suspended it for two years, during which Walker must complete 30 rehabilitation activity days with the Probation Service. Walker was released to a community facility, in Guildford, Surrey.
In June, 2021, perhaps the least surprising news ever, within a week of release Walker was observed by staff in a bookshop to be showing interest in mother and baby care books which included images of naked infants. Police were notified and visited Walker at the hostel – a subsequent search revealed further books containing images of children and other images concealed within Walker’s clothing which concentrated on children’s genital areas.
Judge Ray Singh jailed Walker for a total of 34 months, including ten months from the suspended sentence given in May. The judge said “I was wrong to give her (emphasis mine) that chance. This was a flagrant breach of the order imposed.” Walker chose not to attend the hearing from the men’s category B prison HMP High Down, in Surrey.
The SHPO, which among other restrictions, prevents Walker from possessing images of children remains in place, “until further order”.
Andrew McNab / Chloe Thompson, no picture available.
In what seems to be a favorite past time of trans identified males changing their names and gender to bury their criminal past, this one takes the cake.
Andrew McNab/Chloe Thompson, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted at Teesside Crown Court of the sexual assault of a teenage girl in 2011 and sentenced to 12 months in prison. At the time, McNab appeared to blame the offending on being mentally scarred from Army service. The judge declined to impose the Sexual Harm Prevention Order proposed.
In December 2010, McNab was jailed for a year for affray after he threatened to shoot a former girlfriend and her new partner.
In 2021, McNab/Thompson, 41, was convicted of breaching the conditions of a ten year notification requirement order – this had been imposed on conviction for sexual assault in 2011. The order had reportedly been breached 11 times since it was imposed.
Police had been called to McNab/Thompson’s address after concerns were raised by the landlord. While the officer was reviewing apps on McNab/Thompson’s mobile phone he discovered TikTok had been downloaded and accessed via a user name of Chloe Thompson – and that this alias (changed by deed poll) had not been reported to the police within the mandatory 3-day period.
The judge sentenced McNab/Thompson to a four month custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months, issued a 12 month community order and imposed 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement days.
Paul / Melissa Wilson
Paul/Melissa Wilson (aka Dan Thompson), a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was convicted at Liverpool Crown Court in 2021 of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed for repeated offences related to possessing indecent images of children.
In total, Wilson had six previous convictions for 39 offenses and has consistently breached court orders previously – in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012. In August 2015, Wilson was jailed for four years with an extended four years on licence for threats to kill, possession of prohibited images and breaching notification requirements.
Wilson’s offending involved bypassing security on computers at Liverpool Central Library and Toxteth Library to search for indecent images of very young children using search terms such as “Harry Potter erotica with a focus on Hermione Granger”, “children porn” and “young girls modelling underwear” An alter ego of Wilson, named Dan Thompson, reported the actions to the police, apparently in a bid to return to prison.
Wilson, 34, appeared in court for sentencing via vidlink from HMP Altcourse (a men’s category B prison) and reportedly has Asperger’s and multiple personality disorder.
Wilson was first convicted in April 2008 for possession of indecent images of children and was given a community order (breached twice the same year) and was then jailed for possession of more indecent images of children.
I really wish I could say these are one-off’s but, sadly, no. There are now 191 trials of “women” each month in England & Wales in which the defendant has been charged with sexually abusing children, a 84% rise in the last four years.
I used the word “women” in quotes because these aren’t women but trans-identified males.
The problem in the UK is that they are recording these crimes as having been committed by women and thus skewing the data of actual sexual offenses and who commits them (mostly men).
I have to ask again if being transgender makes one commit these crimes should we not outlaw gender reassignment altogether? Should we not have these people psychologically evaluated?
