Alright, lads and lasses, gather round.
You know that story from Scotland: the one where a 6-foot-something doctor who still has all the original factory-fitted equipment decided the women’s changing room at the hospital was the perfect place to get changed on Christmas Eve, right next to a nurse who was on her period and just trying to swap her scrubs in peace.The nurse (Sandie Peggie) politely pointed out the blindingly obvious.
The doctor (Beth Upton) ran to HR crying ‘bullying’.
The nurse got suspended for 18 months while they investigated whether saying ‘this is the ladies’ is actually a hate crime now.
Fast-forward to today: the employment tribunal just ruled that, actually, the hospital harassed the nurse by letting the doctor keep using the women’s changing room after she complained. But don’t worry, they still made sure to say the doctor did absolutely nothing wrong and is a real woman… it’s just that biology won this round anyway.
So, in the spirit of reconciliation, healing, and stunning bravery, I wrote the good doctor the heartfelt apology he says he’s owed.
