It started with an outfit: Nur Sajat was accused of insulting Islam after wearing a baju kurung, a national dress of Malaysia traditionally worn by women, while attending a religious event at her beauty center in 2018.
Under Section 10(a) of the Shariah Crimes (State of Selangor) Enactment 1995, insulting Islam and related practices either by mocking or blaspheming through writing, drawings or photos is subject to punishment.
Though summoned to a Sharia court, Sajat managed to successfully evade Malaysian authorities where she turned up in Thailand in September and was arrested (then later released) on an immigration charge.
The Malaysian authorities threatened to have Sajat undergo “conversion therapy” which is basically tantamount to torturing someone so badly they reject their sexual orientation and/or gender identity - a practice that is outlawed here in 18 states plus the District of Columbia.
Sajat has subsequently emigrated to Australia where she was ultimately granted asylum, confounding the Malaysian authorities to send her back by way of a extradition request - the same request that was made of Thailand.
Sajat has vowed never to return to Malaysia as she has embraced her “new life” in Australia as shown in her new Instagram posts, in which she proclaims she just wants “to be free, to be myself...to have human rights.”
When asked by a commenter why she chose Australia, she replied: “Because they respect human rights.”
I pen this newsletter today to inform all transgender people that these are the people who truly hate you, that they think it’s perfectly reasonable that you be punished by God for who you are.
And if God isn’t available at the time, they are happy to step in and do it for Him.
As you read my newsletter do you see anything that I’ve written that even remotely comes close to this?
I and other Gender Critical people don’t wish you any real harm. What we do object to is those who would call themselves trans - and they’re not - and demand access to single-sex spaces and women’s sports.
We object to the transing of children. No child has either the capacity or agency to make life-altering decisions that are irreversible: indeed, we don’t allow kids to get tattoos until they’re 18.
To be honest, though, the transgender community has something of an image problem and this needs to be addressed if we’re to have any meaningful dialog going forward.
Simply put: you’re not oppressed.
If you need to perpetuate hate crime hoaxes in order to drum up sympathy for your movement, you’re not oppressed.
Fact: more people in the US choked to death from hot dogs last year than trans people have been murdered globally - and when a trans person is murdered, it had nothing to do with their status as transgendered.
If you are able to dox, persecute, or repossess the children of those who refuse to bow down to your ideology with impunity, you’re not oppressed.
If various countries throughout the western world make it a crime to “misgender” a trans person, or otherwise speak out against gender ideology, you’re not oppressed.
If the establishment allows you to defeat women in sports just because you can’t compete against other men, you are not oppressed.
If you’re privileged enough to whine about how “transphobic” someone’s sexuality is just because they don’t want your “ladydique” or your neovagina, you’re not oppressed.
If the government labels parents who are against their children being taught gender ideology and racism as terrorists, you are not oppressed.
If public schools in Loudoun County, Virginia were willing to cover up the rape of multiple girls by a crossdressing boy, for the sake of their devotion to your ideology, it’s apparent that they care more about your feelings than about rape victims, and therefore you are not oppressed.
If the state is willing to go as far as to punish rape victims for misgendering their assailant, it’s apparent that they care more about your feelings than about rape victims, and therefore you are not oppressed.
If you consider “misgendering,” or any other refusal to validate you as literal violence, you are not oppressed - you’re just a narcissist.
The fact is, transgender people are the most privileged class of people in the west and that they commit suicide to the tune of 41% of their population is evidenced by the fact that being trans is not conducive to long-term happiness.
And that’s nobody else’s fault.
