So the other night over in Scotland on the BBC, Nicky Campbell asked Dave Doogan MP, SNP a question that, even now just hearing it after the fact, was entirely predictable as to how it was going to be answered.
“Straight answer, sir, is convicted rapist, Isla Bryson, a woman?”
Dave’s reply? “Yes”.
Now, for those of you who don’t know about Isla Bryson, Isla Bryson, a man, was born Adam Graham, and got face tattoos under that name to establish his bona fides as a sane and centered person with a coherent sense of self.
Sentenced to serve prison time for raping two women, Bryson showed up in a fabulous wig and manicured nails to show the world that he is a true woman. Inside. Not on the outside. His body is still fully male. It just has silicone boobs on it, now, because that makes him a “real woman” who belongs in a prison with women.
Now, never mind that he raped two women, he clearly needs to be housed with vulnerable women, share their cells and their showers, and live among them as one of the girls - which is why Scotland was about to put him in a women’s prison.
Until they didn’t.
And in case I haven’t been completely clear: Adam/Isla is not any kind of woman, as demonstrated in the this photo.
Because if I can see all the way from California that Adam is a Gentile, he isn’t any kind of woman.
I think we can all see that.
Of course, the Scottish Parliament, which recently passed self-ID legislation over the loud objections of women’s rights campaigners, saw what this entailed and were rightly horrified to move Adam out of the women’s estate and back into the men’s where he belonged.
Yet, despite this, there are still the true believers like Dave who, after the hue and cry over placing Adam, a convicted rapist, in a women’s prison, still believe he’s a pretty, pretty girl.
Here’s the problem as I see it, and Nicky Campbell knew Dave was going to say this but went ahead and asked the question anyway.
And this is the problem with BBC journalists asleep at the switch because, if I were Nicky, I would not have asked that question - or, if I had, I would have immediately answered it by saying “…because we know he’s clearly not.”
And that’s how you put politicians like Dave in the hot seat: you make him stand up before God and Scotland and defend his position that Adam is any kind of woman.
We already know what politicians like Dave are always going to say as they have completely swallowed the corporate line that “transwomen are women”.
We shouldn’t afford them the opportunity.
Oh…and here’s my new song.
Enjoy!
I am not sure why, but it creates in my mind either the characters from perhaps “Dumb and Dumber” sitting around earnestly debating if a child wearing a nose and glasses is Groucho Marx or not, or I’ve plunged into an alternate reality where nobody remembers anything taught in childhood, particularly the 2500 year old Aesop’s fable “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, nobody has ever heard the word “imposter”.
Handsome picture of you BTW.
