What's The Worst That Could Happen?
California Law Now Allows Male Prisoners To Self-ID Into Female Facilities
“The men are coming.”
This was the warning that was given to inmates at the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla, CA by the guards that, very soon, they would be housed with men thanks in no small part to SB 132, a bill that was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom in January that requires a prisoner be housed “in a correctional facility designated for men or women based on the individual’s preference.”
In other words a man who prefers to be housed with female inmates because he says he’s a woman.
That’s right. No gender reassignment surgery, no hormones, not even so much as lipstick and a dress – come as you are and accept that I’m a woman because I say so.
Similar laws have been passed in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Every individual coming into the custody of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is asked to specify their pronouns, their gender identity and whether they identify as transgender, non-binary or intersex (which is not a sexual orientation but a diagnosable medical condition which, in this case, is not being diagnosed).
Since the law went into effect, 261 male prisoners have requested to be housed in the female prison based on how they identify while only six women who identify as transmen have requested transfer to male facilities.
Now the reader is forgiven at this point for thinking that CDCR would see through the obvious scam of a male requested he be housed in a female facility but you, the reader, are mistaken – as of today, no request to be transferred to a facility of a prisoner’s preference has been denied.
Of the 261 requests to CDCR for transfer to female facilities, 21 of them have been granted and have now been placed in CCWF in Chowchilla.
As of April, 1,129 inmates now identify as transgender, non-binary and intersex. One guesses that the ratio of males requesting transfers to female facilities in this number is incredibly lopsided.
Which begs a question: what is easier to believe? That all these inmates have had gender dysphoria persistent through and beyond puberty or that they suddenly find themselves flush with women who can’t escape or easily rebuff their unwanted advances?
So what could possibly go wrong?
With the warning given to the inmates at Chowchilla comes an ominous implication – women at the facility can expect to be sexually assaulted.
Some women at the facility are sleeping in shifts to make sure that none of them are sexually assaulted in the middle of the night, but that hasn’t prevented the inevitable – at least one woman is now pregnant, maybe more.
What is even more incredible is now the prison has been equipped with condom dispensers.
This is the madness that is Self-ID, that we take someone at their word they are a woman and suspend our disbelief to “be kind”. No men belong in women’s prisons regardless of how they identify and to house them with women is beyond cruel and unusual punishment and it is anything but “kind”.
