People don't become mentally ill, depressed and suicidal because they are not indulged in a fantasy of being the opposite sex. They indulge in the fantasy of being the opposite sex because they are mentally ill. If they subsequently kill themselves, it is because they are mentally ill/depressed/suicidal - and probably because they realise they can never actually become the opposite sex.
Incidentally, I had a very close family member who threatened suicide throughout their life (I use "their" purely to disguise their sex, not because they were "non-binary" or some such crap), even "attempted" it and was hospitalised including a once a mental hospital, twice. With hindsight, and reflecting on the circumstances that lead to these "attempts", no way was this relative planning on *actually* killing themselves. In fact it wasn't even a "cry for help". It was *purely* a manipulative move, and one to worry, control and punish others. This relative was a text book narcissist. Now deceased, but they clung onto life even in old(er) age and serious illness - they were not going to give up life lightly!
Oh yeah, and people who threaten suicide don't do it - successfully anyway. Those who make no fuss about it, they're the ones who see it through. Heart-breakingly for their family and friends who have had no clue. They're the ones we should be looking out for, not the noisy narcissists demanding their own way, blackmailing us, using the truly suicidal as their weapons. Bastards.
