I don't think, given the current gender identity fad, that there should be any legislative recognition of the concept. The entire arena should be returned to the pre-2007 criteria; a legitimate DSM-based diagnosis of dysphoria and zero value placed on self-reports, with no medical intervention before age 18 (and preferably 25), with surgery only after a year living as the opposite sex.
And that also means treating ROGD and nonbinary strictly in psychiatric terms, with no affirmation for either.
The scourge that is Scott Wiener and legislative show pony Newsom are turning CA into a child trafficking haven. I lived in SF and then Oakland from 1992-2018 during which time the Bay Area went from fun and semi-affordable to unliveable shithole.
Imagine if thirty years ago there was a movement to sterilize children, whether promoted as punitive, supportive, affirmative, or whatever.
