"The ACLU argues that the bill would have significant negative consequences, as it would prohibit necessary and life-saving medical care for transgender youth in Texas."

"Life-saving." I wasn't aware that "gender dysphoria" was potentially fatal.

This is the tacit acceptance of the second-biggest lie in "gender ideology": that deprivation of physical gender "transitioning" leads directly to suicide. The biggest lie is, of course, that there is such a thing as sex change. "Eunuch" is not a sex, it is a deficiency that has historically been used as a punishment for captured soldiers, for 𝑐𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖 to sing in church choirs, and as a preparation for harem guards.

A few data points.

(1) gender "affirmation" only got off the ground around 2009, but if the activists are to be believed (and they absolutely should not) then 0.5-1.5% of the population is transgender (reality is in the area of 0.0015%) and before 2009 the bodies of suicided teens should have formed mountains of corpses. Didn't happen.

(2) there is a big reversal in several European countries in esteem for neutering kids who suddenly claim to be "trans," and in Finland this has been for all intents and purposes curtailed. There has been no spike in suicides.

A point of order. The diagnosis of "gender dysphoria" comes from 2013 and DSM-5, which we have to regard as illegitimate, and the term along with it, as it allows self-reports to count as diagnosis. Given the compulsion of teens to conform, this is anything but acceptable. These are mostly gay kids and they are getting hysterectomies and orchiectomies in response to a fucking fad.

We should return to calling it "gender identity disorder" and treating it as a disorder, not as a "misassignment" at birth that needs to be corrected.
